Cody “Center for Kids Who Can’t” Reed “Good” got the start for Louisville and, while he kept runs off the board, he was pretty wild. He lasted only 4 innings, giving up 2 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits with 5 walks and 4 strikeouts. Barrett “A little place called” Astin came on in relief and was better, throwing 2 shutout innings and giving up only 1 walk and 1 hit with 3 strikeouts. Jesse Winker “Hardly even knew her” had a big night at the plate, going 4 for 5 with a double, a 2-run dinger, and 4 runs scored.
