No sense in burying the lede here: Eugenio “Aye You Hey Knee Oh” Suarez made his first rehab appearance Tuesday night and seemed to do very well, going 1-for-2 with a double and two walks. The latter doesn’t have much to do with his thumb, but the double (without having seen it) provides some evidence that Suarez still has pop in his bat that the Reds have sorely missed without him.
In other former big league Reds news, Cody “Specs” Reed started this one on the mound and lasted three innings, allowing one run on a hit and two walks while fanning three.
