Jesus Reyes earned a spot on the 40-man roster of the Cincinnati Reds after his 2017 campaign, one that saw him post a 3.60 ERA in 137.1 IP spent between A+ Daytona and AA Pensacola. His 2018 season got off to a bit of a rocky start with the Blue Wahoos, but his Thursday effort showed the upside that landed him a roster spot to begin with.
He retired 15 batters in his Pensacola start, and 9 of them came via K. That’s the kind of effort that’ll have a few more eyes on the 25 year old.
