A jury in Northern California's San Mateo County awarded $2.3 million Monday to former Cincinnati Reds pitcher Greg Reynolds, who claimed his pitching hand suffered "multiple fractures" when he punched a naked man on LSD who attacked him and tried to break into his home.

The jury awarded Reynolds - the No. 2 overall pick in the 2006 Major League Baseball draft who made 21 starts with the Reds and Colorado Rockies over parts of three seasons - and his wife the money from the man Reynolds said he punched in self-defense after confronting him during the break-in, as well as the neighbor who hosted the party at which the suspect consumed LSD, according to the San Jose Mercury News.
