Facing the Triple-A affiliate of his former team for the first time since joining Boston's Triple-A team, Pawtucket Red Sox infielder Brandon Phillips was ejected from the PawSox's game Tuesday night in Louisville.
The 37-year-old former Cincinnati Reds fan favorite is hitting .213 with a homer and 8 RBIs in 16 games for Pawtucket since the Red Sox signed him in late June.
Phillips played 11 seasons for the Reds - winning four Gold Gloves and making the All-Star team three times - before the team traded him to the Atlanta Braves in February of 2017.
In August of last year, Phillips recorded his 2,000th career hit - with his mom on hand in Philadelphia.
