ST. LOUIS – After three days and 40 rounds, Reds scouting director Brad Meador completed his first Major League Baseball Draft in his new position.
They Reds leaned on experienced talent, selecting 28 collegiate players and 12 high schoolers. Sixteen picks were pitchers and 24 were position players, including eight players listed as catchers.
"You like to balance the draft out, but also you’re just looking to take the best player at every slot," Reds assistant scouting director Joe Katuska said.
