Eugenio Suárez was named the National League player of the month in September on Monday.
Suárez hit .337 with 10 homers and 18 RBI in the final month of the season, posting a .455 on-base percentage and .747 slugging percentage. He finished the season with 49 homers, the second-most in the Majors. It was the most ever by a Venezuelan-born player in a season and it was a record for an NL third baseman.
