GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Every day at 8 a.m., Eugenio Suarez heads out to the half-field at the edge of the Reds’ spring training complex for some early work. He’s joined by infielders Jose Peraza and Hernan Iribarren, and coaches Freddie Benavides, Miguel Cairo and Luis Bolivar.
Together, they work on the finer points of playing their respective infield positions, with Suarez focusing on mastering third. It’s a process he began last year, one that played out somewhat painfully throughout the major-league season.
Things are a lot easier for the 25-year-old now.
