Eugenio Suárez became the 6th Venezuelan in MLB history with 40 homers in a season. It's the most ever by a Reds third baseman. Bobby Nightengale, Cincinnati Enquirer
ST. LOUIS – Whenever Eugenio Suárez is asked about his home run totals, he always responds that he’s just trying to have good swings and he doesn't worry about homers.
He couldn't stop smiling thinking about the significance of Sunday's homer.
Suárez blasted a two-run homer in the third inning. It was his 40th homer. He became just the sixth player from Venezuela to hit 40 homers in a season, joining Andrés Galarraga, Miguel Cabrera, Richard Hidalgo, Tony Armas and Carlos González.
