A pair of contenders have emerged as potential favorites to land Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher Matt Harvey, according to a report Monday from ESPN.com.
The Reds' "main focus this week" in advance of the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline will be finding a landing spot for Harvey, and the Seattle Mariners and Milwaukee Brewers are "among the clubs that have inquired on Harvey," according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick, who cited sources.
Crasnick added that the San Francisco Giants had interest in Harvey before the Reds acquired him in May in exchange for catcher Devin Mesoraco.
