Many Reds fans were well aware that the Milwaukee Brewers' scoreboard operator's trolling of Cincinnati rookie Elly De La Cruz didn't age well.
The video board read, "Almost hit a home run in the first inning … but didn't." The joke was made after De La Cruz was robbed of a home run in his first at-bat of the game, and just before De La Cruz crushed a 456-foot home run out of the stadium at American Family Field.
How did that go over in the Reds' dugout? De La Cruz and Reds manager David Bell weren't aware of it until after the game.
