Suárez asked Holmes directly if Holmes threw at him in the eighth inning of a 7-1 game Wednesday. Holmes said no. Suárez was OK with that.

Logic suggests Holmes was being square. Pirates up six late in the game. What’s the point? But logic doesn’t always rule when the Cincinnati Reds play the Pittsburgh Pirates.
