GOODYEAR, Arizona – Right-hander Anthony DeSclafani was pitch-efficient in his spring debut.
How efficient?
He headed down to the bullpen to throw 15 more pitches after he left the game. DeSclafani went two perfect innings, striking out two in the Cincinnati Reds’ 10-1 win over the Oakland A’s on Friday.
DeSclafani, 29, went 9-9 with a 3.98 ERA last season. He set a career high for strikeouts with 167 in 166 u2154 innings. From Aug. 28 to Sept. 21, he went five straight starts in which he allowed three hits or fewer and went at least six innings.
