CINCINNATI -- After a couple of months of tedious rehabilitation for a sprained ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow, Reds pitcher Anthony DeSclafani received the news he wanted to hear on Friday. DeSclafani underwent an MRI exam and was cleared to begin a throwing program.
DeSclafani, who has been working out at the team facility in Goodyear, Ariz., returned to Cincinnati and was checked out by team medical director Dr. Tim Kremchek. He has not pitched this season since being injured early in Spring Training and is currently on the 60-day disabled list.
"I can actually start feeling like a baseball player again and can put a glove on and throw a ball.
