PHOENIX – Derek Dietrich is swinging the bat like he did in the first half of last season.
Dietrich hit .221 with 18 home runs in the first half last year for the Reds and .071 with one home run and three RBI in the second half. His season ended with a 1-for-39 skid. His struggles were the result of a left shoulder injury. He had surgery to repair the shoulder.
