PITTSBURGH -- Rookie Davis' second big-league start was a big improvement over his first, but it still ended painfully Tuesday night at PNC Park.
The Reds' pitcher left in the fifth inning after he was struck by a Jameson Taillon fastball on his right wrist and suffered a bruised right forearm while attempting to bunt. He left with his team leading, 2-1.
Davis walked to first base after being examined by Reds medical personnel, but did not return to the mound for the bottom of the fifth, giving way to Tony Cingrani.
