While the Reds ace had allowed just one run in 17 innings to begin the month, he gave up five runs (three earned) on seven hits in five innings as Miami pinned him with his sixth loss of the season. The righty was removed for a pinch-hitter in the top of the sixth after just 68 pitches, and he reacted by throwing equipment in the dugout.
"I feel bad," Cueto said. "Those things happen when you get frustrated. We're all frustrated. But the manager is the manager and he has chances to do things like that."
Manager Bryan Price said he discussed the incident with his pitcher and called it an atypical reaction from Cueto.
