The Cubs top young prospect Addison Russell hit a three run double with two outs in the 5th inning, to lead the Cubs to a 5-2 win over the Reds. Today was just the fifth game in Russell’s young MLB career. The Cubs swept the Reds in the short two game series, and are now 4-1 against the Reds in 2015.
Cubs starter Jake Arrieta retired the first 11 batters he faced, but then gave up a solo home run to Todd Frazier. Reds starter Anthony DeSclafani only gave up 1 earned run in five innings, but suffered the loss.
