According to Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto, the generation of players that he came up with wasn’t supposed to show emotion on the field. Whether Votto was building his MVP case or ending a rough patch with a big hit, Votto said he used to be more comfortable remaining calm on the field.
But on Tuesday night against the reigning World Series champions, there was Votto bopping his head at second base after a go-ahead double in the seventh inning of Tuesday’s 6-5 win for the Reds over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Votto has celebrated moments before as MLB has changed since his debut.
