The Reds offense did their part. They hit four home runs in pitcher friendly AT&T Ballpark. The Reds pitching however did not hold up their end of the bargain.
Cody Reed got hit hard again. He allowed six runs over five innings, including giving up a three-run home run to Giants pitcher Matt Cain. Blake Wood also struggled in relief, and despite the Reds best comeback efforts, they still fell short 9-7.
