Don’t try to tell the manager of one of the best teams in the best division in baseball that the National League Central is a “crap” division.
“I’m not sold on that,” said Baltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde, whose pennant contender has a top-three record in baseball — but has lost three of the four series it has played against NL Central teams, including the Cincinnati Reds less than two weeks ago.
“Cincinnati’s the real deal,” Hyde said Friday when asked to break down the allegedly “crap” NL Central — where he spent five years as a Chicago Cubs coach before leaving to manage the Orioles in 2019.
