WASHINGTON, D.C. — The news that Hunter Greene has a sprained ulnar collateral ligament sent the shockwave you’d expect through Redsland.
Greene, 18, is probably the best-known Reds draft pick ever. He was on the cover of Sports Illustrated. He lit up the radar gun at 102 mph. He’s polished, personable.
Keep him healthy and you’ve got a star, a guy who could anchor the rotation.
Now, he’s done for the year — and some doomsayers on social media predicted he’s done forever.
That is almost certainly not the case. Greene is a special case because he throws so hard.
