There’s been a lot of talk throughout Reds Country about which players the front office should re-sign this offseason. It’s a great debate, as the Cincinnati Reds have plethora of starters who will hit the open market this offseason.
With Zach Duke being designated for assignment, the Reds now have eight players who will become free agents this coming offseason. Jared Hughes also has a team-option for 2020 with a $250,000 buyout. It would cost the Reds $3M to keep Hughes on next year’s roster, and with the young arms in the Reds’ farm system, there’s a possibility the team will let him enter free agency.
