After beginning the week at 4-2 and in first place in the National League Central, the Cincinnati Reds went 1-5 this week to fall to 5-7 on the season and drop to fourth in the division. Their only win came on Wednesday, a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Cubs. It’s never fun to lose to the Cubs, but the week got worse as it ended with the Reds suffering a sweep at the hands of the St. Louis Cardinals.
As you might imagine, this week’s grades aren’t pretty:
Offense
Game Ball, Joey Votto
F
The offense got off to a nice start this week, scoring 14 runs in their first three games, but completely fell off from there, scoring only four runs in the final four games, hence the “F” grade.
