The Cincinnati Reds are on the verge of completing a trade that will send right-handed starting pitcher Tyler Mahle to the Minnesota Twins ahead of Tuesday’s 6 p.m. trade deadline, a source confirmed to The Enquirer, and the Reds will receive three prospects.
The Reds are expected to receive infielder Spencer Steer, left-hander Steven Hajjar and third baseman Christian Encarnacion-Strand. Steer is the headliner, rated No. 4 in the Twins' organization by Baseball America.
Hajjar, rated No. 11 in the Twins' system by Baseball America, is pitching in Single-A and Encarnacion-Strand, ranked No. 14, is in Double-A.
