With less than 24 hours to go before Tuesday's 6 p.m. trade deadline, the Cincinnati Reds joined a suddenly active market by trading for Oakland A's left-hander Sam Moll.
Moll, 31, is a former third-round pick of the Colorado Rockies, who had 4.54 ERA and 11.0 strikeouts per nine innings in 45 appearances (37 2/3 innings) this season.
The Reds sent minor-league right-hander Joe Boyle to the A's in the deal.
To make room on the 40-man roster, the Reds transferred Hunter Greene to the 60-day injured list. It won't affect Greene's timeline for a return from his hip/back injury.
