The Cincinnati Reds have made a trade to acquire outfielder Delino DeShields from the Boston Red Sox. He is the son of Reds first base coach Delino DeShields.
This move is one at the minor league level. DeShields is not on the 40-man roster and has not been added to the 40-man roster. The Reds traded an undisclosed amount of cash for the 29-year-old outfielder and assigned him to Triple-A Louisville.
The younger DeShields played in parts of six big league seasons from 2015-2020, but has not seen action in the big leagues in 2021. For his career he’s hit .
