It was supposed to be an action-packed night on Fox Sports Ohio with games throughout the afternoon and evening Tuesday.
The Columbus Blue Jackets were scheduled to play the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 1 of the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs at 3 p.m. The Cincinnati Reds were scheduled to begin at 6:40 p.m. in their series opener against the Kansas City Royals.
Fox Sports Ohio planned to show the Blue Jackets’ playoff game throughout the region on their main channel and then follow with the Reds afterward.
The problem with trying to schedule back-to-back games on the main channel was the second-longest game in modern NHL history.
