ST. LOUIS - It’s safe to say that firing Bryan Price didn’t exactly light the fire under the Reds that management was looking for.
The Reds were swept by the St. Louis Cardinals in the three-game series that followed Price's dismissal. The Cards completed it with a 9-2 victory in front of a crowd of 44,430 on a cloudy, rainy Sunday at Busch Stadium.
The Reds have lost five in a row and 12 of 13. They are 3-18. The Reds have not held a lead in any of the five losses on the skid.
Right-hander Luis Castillo, last year’s best starter, continues to struggle this year.
