PITTSBURGH – Twice the Pittsburgh Pirates loaded the bases without an out Friday.
The Reds escaped without much damage the first time because of a double play. The second time, they were less lucky.
Two runs scored in the bottom of the sixth inning on sacrifice flies and the Reds paid the price for stranding 10 runners on base in a 3-2 loss at PNC Park, snapping their three-game winning streak in front of a crowd of 23,007.
Reds (25-44) starter Matt Harvey surrendered back-to-back singles in the bottom of the sixth inning and exited after throwing his 100th pitch.
