Cincinnati Reds stay hot, defeat Pittsburgh Pirates

PITTSBURGH – We’ll have more in a bit on the Cincinnati Reds’ 6-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday at PNC Park. Until then, here are the main storylines.

Box score: Reds 6, Pirates 2

Rookie Davis lasted only four innings. Just like in his first big-league start last week, Davis struggled with efficiency against the Pirates. He walked a batter in each of his first three innings, and had 76 pitches through three innings.

Still, he never folded. The only run to score off him came in the third, when Starling Marte smacked a broken-bat single, moved up on a wild pitch and to third on a groundout.
