GOODYEAR, Arizona – After steady rainfall throughout Saturday morning, the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Indians canceled their Cactus League opener at Goodyear Ballpark.
It was the seventh time the Reds had a game rained out since they moved their spring training complex to Arizona in 2010. Their last cancellation was March 12, 2019, when it started raining after three pitches. Saturday was just the second rainout since 2015.
There were eight Cactus League games scheduled for Saturday. Six games were canceled because of the rain. The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers pushed their game back two hours.
