Cincinnati Reds remain confident in bullpen despite early woes

It’s been a horrendous start to the season for the Cincinnati Reds’ bullpen after pitching three hitless innings in a 7-1 Opening Day win over the Detroit Tigers.

During the Reds’ four-game losing streak, the bullpen has allowed 15 runs in 18 innings (7.50 ERA). Lucas Sims and Pedro Strop are the only relievers who have yet to give up an earned run.

Michael Lorenzen, the team’s most efficient reliever last season, has surrendered five hits and four runs in 2 u2154 innings. He’s allowed a home run in each of his three appearances. Lorenzen yielded nine homers across 83 u2153 innings in 2019.
