GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Cincinnati Reds may be without one of their top relievers when they break camp in three weeks.
Lucas Sims had “a couple of hiccups” in his buildup for spring training and it’s possible he may start the season on the Injured List. He’s healthy now, throwing a bullpen session Thursday, but the Reds don’t want to risk another injury by rushing his readiness before Opening Day.

“There is no point in rushing, getting back and then in a couple weeks if something flares up and if we don’t do it the correct way, I don’t want to miss more time than I have to,” said Sims, who had a meeting with manager David Bell, pitching coach Derek Johnson and the medical staff.
