MILWAUKEE – The Brewers kept their faint playoff hopes alive with a 4-3 victory over the Reds on Thursday at Miller Park.
Box score: Brewers 4, Reds 3
The Brewers moved to within two games of the idle Rockies with the win and will now travel to St. Louis to face the Cardinals in a three-game set between the final two teams alive behind Colorado for the second wild card spot. That wild card spot is the only playoff spot remaining.
Here are the main storylines from Thursday’s game:
• Hamilton’s error costly: Billy Hamilton is one of the game’s best defenders, but even he isn’t immune to errors.
