According to the Cincinnati Enquirer’s John Fay, the Cincinnati Reds have recalled right-hander Michael Lorenzen from Triple-A Louisville to start on Monday against the Chicago Cubs, taking the place of left-hander David Holmberg in the starting rotation.
Lorenzen has been brilliant since his demotion to Louisville, pitching a complete-game shutout in his first game back and firing a one-hitter over eight innings in his most recent start. Overall, Lorenzen has allowed only three runs on 14 hits in 24 innings. He’s also done a nice job keeping his walks down, issuing only four free passes in his three starts.
