Mike Moustakas discusses his decision to sign with the Cincinnati Reds and his willingness to play second base next year. Bobby Nightengale, Cincinnati Enquirer
SAN DIEGO – Heading into the Winter Meetings this week, there isn’t as much mystery surrounding the Reds as previous offseasons.
The Reds made it clear that they have money to spend and they plan to remain aggressive throughout the offseason. Mike Moustakas is a fit for the middle of the lineup, but his signing is viewed as just the first step toward improving the offense.
As much as the starting rotation was a strength last season, the Reds signaled they are in the market for pitching when they were in the running for Zack Wheeler despite his price tag exceeding $100 million.
