Mike Moustakas didn't travel on the Cincinnati Reds' road trip to Cleveland or Milwaukee as he rehabbed his bruised left quad in Cincinnati.
The Reds were hopeful that Moustakas could return to the lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the Kansas City Royals, but those hopes were dashed on Sunday afternoon when he was placed on the 10-day injured list. The Reds promoted Tejay Antone to join the team's bullpen.
It's been a tough season for Moustakas, who already missed eight of the team's first 15 games. He exited Tuesday's game against Cleveland with his quad injury in the fifth inning and he hasn't returned.
