Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer had another rough start Sunday in a loss to the New York Mets Adam Baum, abaum@enquirer.com
The pitcher's mound is a lonely place.
For Trevor Bauer, it's also a bit confounding.
At least it was on Sunday at Great American Ball Park as the Cincinnati Reds – a team mathematically eliminated from postseason contention – hosted the New York Mets – a team 4.5 games back in the National League Wild Card race at the start of the day.
Bauer, who was acquired July 31 from the Indians in a three-team trade, was making his 10th start in a Cincinnati Reds uniform and after the day was done, the Mets won 6-3, handing Bauer his fifth loss as a member of his new team and it was the fifth time he's allowed five more earned runs.
