GOODYEAR, Arizona – Throughout the offseason, Reds pitcher Michael Lorenzen hit in batting cages and completed drills in the outfield to prepare himself for a potential two-way role.
Manager David Bell will keep the door open to possibly using Lorenzen in the outfield, but the club wants Lorenzen to focus solely on pitching at the beginning of spring training. The front office and Bell planned to sit down with Lorenzen on Tuesday or Wednesday to further discuss his role.
