PITTSBURGH – Homer Bailey was scheduled to make his second rehab start at Class-AAA Louisville on Saturday, but was scratched because his injured knee continued to bother him.
Placed on the 10-day disabled list with right knee inflammation on June 2, Bailey was pulled from his rehab assignment.
Bailey pitched three innings at Louisville in his first rehab start Monday, giving up six hits and five runs in 68 pitches. He walked one and struck out one.
“This is his call,” Reds manager Jim Riggleman said. “He pulled himself off of the rehab. He just wasn’t feeling right.
