Since the end of the 2018 season, Reds outfielder Jesse Winker visited the club’s Spring Training complex in Goodyear, Arizona, nearly every day to rehab his surgically repaired right shoulder.
The good news is his rehab is essentially over. All he’s doing is maintaining strength in his shoulder. He said the final date on his checklist is Jan. 7, which is when he will start swinging a bat.
“I’ve already done some exercises with my training and rehab that if I were to do those in prior years, my shoulder would’ve been killing me,” Winker said. “It’s super refreshing to go do an exercise and my shoulder not hurt.
