Cincinnati Reds open game with back-to-back homers for the first time since 2001

CLEVELAND – After slumping offensively throughout the month, the Cincinnati Reds had as good of a start as they could've dreamed in Wednesday's game against the Cleveland Indians.

Leadoff hitter Nick Senzel pummeled a slider over the left-field wall on the fifth pitch of the game against Indians rookie starter Zach Plesac. It was Senzel's second career leadoff homer and his fifth home run of the season.

Seven pitches later, Joey Votto followed Senzel's lead with a home run that he lined over the right-field wall, traveling an estimated 379 feet. It was Votto's sixth home run of the season and his second in his last five games.
