GOODYEAR, Arizona – Scott Schebler had no escape from baseball when he was rehabbing his shoulder five days a week at the Cincinnati Reds’ spring training facility.
His shoulder surgery was a sour ending to a rough 2019 season. Schebler had a .123 batting average with two home runs and seven RBI in 30 games before he was demoted to Triple-A Louisville. Things didn’t improve from there.
Schebler produced a .216 batting average with five homers and 17 RBI in 53 minor league games. He missed time with a right oblique strain before he underwent season-ending shoulder surgery.
