DENVER – Connor Overton didn’t have the opportunity to make the first impression he wanted with the Cincinnati Reds at the start of Major League camp.
“The day before big-league camp started,” Overton said, “I got food poisoning and was out for, like, five days. I came back and was just trying to build up the whole time. I just wasn’t feeling great, kind of fighting myself the whole time. I was able to build back up to start at Louisville and I’m feeling good now.”
Overton, a right-hander, will have a chance to make a new first impression when he makes his season debut Saturday at Coors Field.
