When Nick Senzel approached hitting coaches Turner Ward and Donnie Ecker about making adjustments to his swing, it wasn’t about his numbers. He already had raised his batting average above .270 a couple of games after the All-Star break.
Senzel felt like he was hitting well despite some of his own shortcomings. In recent weeks, he’s moved away from his crouched, closed batting stance. He’s standing taller and more open before pitches are delivered.
