When you think of the Cincinnati Reds, you have to think about where a curse might come from on the roster. In this incarnation of the Reds there is no likelier place than Dat Dude, Brandon Phiilips. He is a long-time Red, but not a company guy.
Whether it’s complaining about not making as much money as Joey Votto or calling the beat writer fat and worse, Dat Dude, Phillips’ alter ego, is a vindictive, selfish man. That is the type of person who would try to leave some voodoo behind on his way out the door.
