Cincinnati Reds manager David Bell's first game gives second-guessers plenty to talk about

Cincinnati Reds manager David Bell picked up a win in his managerial debut Thursday, 5-3 over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Opening Day Adam Baum, abaum@enquirer.com

After David Bell finished up his postgame press conference, he walked back to the clubhouse with Bronson Arroyo.

“Man, you should’ve heard of ‘em when you took out Castillo!” Arroyo said with a laugh.

Arroyo was referring to Bell’s first big in-game decision as manager. He pulled starter Luis Castillo with two outs in the sixth inning after 91 pitches. When Jared Hughes gave up the lead, Twitter lit up Bell.
