The Yankees have the prototypical back of the bullpen, with closer Aroldis Chapman and setup man Dellin Betances. The Reds do things a little differently, and on national TV on Tuesday night against one of the biggest draws in the game, the Reds showed off their new-look bullpen.
With a rested bullpen and a day off on Wednesday, Reds manager Bryan Price was able to deploy his back of the bullpen in the sixth inning, getting two scoreless innings each from Michael Lorenzen and Raisel Iglesias to shut down a 5-3 victory at Great American Ball Park to split the two-game series against the team with baseball’s best record.
