The Cincinnati Reds officially made Mike Moustakas their largest free-agent signing in club history Thursday, announcing their four-year, $64 million deal.
Moustakas will wear No. 4 and he will have an introductory press conference Thursday night. He will remain in town for Redsfest this weekend.
“Mike is a proven performer on winning teams, and we are excited to add his power and experience to our roster," Reds owner Bob Castellini said in a statement.
Dick Williams, the Reds' president of baseball operations, added: "We welcome Mike and his family to the organization. We know he will have an immediate and significant impact on our team and is going to help us in our relentless pursuit of championships.
